Water control umbrella

(Figure) the scheme of the installation of the water control umbrella, and of the fixation of this umbrella using the tubingsWATER CONTROL UMBRELLA (EN: hoseproof hood, waterproof umbrella; DE: Wasserschutzschirm; FR: protection contre l'eau; ES: cubierta contra las avenidas de agua; RU: водозащитный зонт) is the device in the form of the shell, which is installed inside the underground built structure (at the distance of 10-20 centimetres from the lining) for the diversion of the water, which is seeping through the pores, cracks, and leaks within the waterproofing and connections of the lining; the water control umbrella ensures the complete moisture isolation of the internal spaces of the underground built structures. The water control umbrella is used within the metropolitan subway construction industry, for the construction of the stations with the deep embedment, and of the inclined escalator tunnels. The water, which is accumulating, flows down the water control umbrella, and is diverted into the internal drainage. As a rule, the water control umbrella is the structure, which may be assembled and disassembled, and this fact facilitates the access to the major lining for the repair works (see the Figure). They produce the water control umbrella of the reinforced concrete, asbestos cement (the most common within the domestic metropolitan subway construction industry), ferrocement (the Leningrad metropolitan subway), metal, fiberglass, and duralumin profiles (the Moscow metropolitan subway).
