VIBRATORY CONVEYOR (EN: vibrating conveyer; DE: Vibrationsforderer; FR: transporteur vibrant; ES: transportador vibratorio; RU: вибрационный конвейер) is the type of the conveyor, the principle of the action of which is based on the oscillatory motion of the working load-carrying tool. The vibratory conveyor is purposed for the transportation of the thinly dispersed (from the tens of microns) and large-lump materials (up to 1000 millimetres and more) with the temperature of up to 1000-1200 degrees Celsius along the horizontal, inclined, or vertical directions. The vibratory conveyors have obtained the wide distribution within the mining industry. The vibratory conveyor comprises the stationary framework, mover, one or more working tools, and elastic connections. The working tool of the vibratory conveyor may be of the exposed trough type (see the Figure # 1), or of the enclosed box-tube type (see the Figure # 2), which is ensuring the hermetization of the material, which is transported.
Depending on the quantity of the oscillating masses, the vibratory conveyors are sub-divided into the single-mass, double-mass, and multiple-mass types; and depending on the mode of the oscillatory motion of the working tool, the conveyors are sub-divided into the hyper-resonant, resonant, and hypo-resonant types. The hyper-resonant mode of the work of the vibratory conveyor is characterized with the fact, that the frequency of compelled oscillations, which is excited using the mover of the vibratory conveyor, is significantly higher, than the frequency of the natural oscillations of the system. The vibratory conveyors of this type, as a rule, have the oscillating mass, namely, the working tool, which is connected to the stationary base using the elastic connections. In case of the resonant mode of the work of the vibratory conveyor, the frequency of the compelled vibrations coincides with one of the natural frequencies of the system or is near to it.
There exist the resonant vibratory conveyors with the two, three, or multiple masses, while these masses can perform the functions of the working tools and balancing frames, which are connected among themselves using the elastic connections. The hypo-resonant mode of the work of the vibratory conveyor is characterized using the perturbing frequency, which is lower, than the natural frequency of the oscillations of the system. The hypo-resonant vibratory conveyors have obtained the least distribution. They distinguish the vibratory conveyors with the circular, elliptical, linear, horizontal, and inclined trajectories of the motion of the working tool. The oscillatory motion of the working tool of the vibratory conveyor may be excited using the eccentric, inertial, electromagnetic, pneumatic, and hydraulic movers.
Within the fatherland and foreign industry, there are used the vibratory conveyors with the length of the transportation along the horizontal or inclined direction of up to 100 metres, and along the vertical direction (see the Figure # 3) of up to 10 metres.
The performance of the horizontal and inclined vibratory conveyors is up to 200 cubic metres per hour, and the performance of the vertical vibratory conveyors is up to 50 cubic metres per hour.
