VEZIROV, Suleiman Azad oglu

VEZIROV, Suleiman Azad oglu (RU: Везиров, Сулейман Азад оглы) is the Soviet governmental worker, the organizer of the petroleum industry within the USSR, the Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of the Azerbaijan SSR (1964), the Hero of the Socialistic Labour (1944). Vezirov is the member of the CPSU since the 1941. Vezirov was the deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR during the 1950-54, 1958-66. During the 1932, Vezirov has graduated from the Azerbaijan Petroleum Institute (now the Azerbaijan Institute for Petroleum and Chemistry). Since the 1940, Vezirov was the chief engineer, and during the 1942-46, Vezirov was the director of the Azneftekombinat combined enterprise (since the 1945, "Azneft"). During the 1946-49, Vezirov was the director of the Main Administration for the Extraction of Petroleum within the structure of the Ministry for the Petroleum Industry of the southern and western regions of the USSR, and was the director of the "Turkmenneft" consortium (1949-53). During the 1954-57, Vezirov was the Minister for the Petroleum Industry of the Azerbaijan SSR; during the 1958-59, Vezirov was the Deputy Chairman for the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR; during the 1959-65, Vezirov was the Chairman for the National Economic Council of the Azerbaijan SSR; during the 1965-70, Vezirov was the Deputy Chairman for the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR; during the 1970-73, Vezirov was the Deputy Chairman for the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR. Vezirov governed the exploration, drilling, and commissioning of the petroleum fields, including the Buzovna-Mashtaga petroleum field (1945), has organized the exploratory works for petroleum on the coastal shelf of the Caspian sea, and also the deep exploration of the petroleum fields within Turkmenistan (Nebitdag, Cheleken). Vezirov has developed (jointly with A. G. Baronyan), and has implemented at the petroleum fields of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the single-pipe high-pressure sealed system for the collecting of petroleum and gas (1946). Vezirov has been awarded with the Governmental Prize of the USSR (1951) for the discovery and mastering of the new petroleum field. After Vezirov, there has been named the first non-self-propelled pipe-laying vessel, namely, "Suleiman Vezirov".
