Vertical scaling factor

VERTICAL SCALING FACTOR (EN: vertical scale of height; DE: Vertikalmaßstab; FR: echelle altimetrique; ES: escala altimetrica; RU: вертикальный масштаб) is the scaling factor for the depiction of the altitudes for the points on the topographic profiles, or on the vertical cross sections of the Earth's crust. Usually, the vertical scaling factor is larger, than the horizontal scaling factor (by 10 times), for the emphasizing of the character of the relief along the line of the profile.
