BORISENKO, Konstantin Stepanovich

BORISENKO, Konstantin Stepanovich (RU: Борисенко, Константин Степанович) is the Soviet scientist in the field of the mining science, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1961). He is the member of the CPSU since the 1925. He has graduated from the Donetsk Mining (now Polytechnic) Institute (1928). Since the 1943, he was the director of the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute, and during the 1958-64, he was the director of the Institute for the Mining Craft (IGD) of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (now the Institute for the Mining Mechanics and Technical Cybernetics of the Ministry for the Coal Industry of the USSR). He has developed the theory for the emergence of explosions within the mine pneumatic installations, and the methods for their prevention, he has brought the contribution into the theory and creation of the pneumatic motors for the mining machines.
