"BELORUSNEFT" (RU: "Белоруснефть") is the productive consortium for the extraction of petroleum and gas within the Gomel province of the Belarus SSR of the Ministry for the petroleum industry of the USSR. It has been founded during the 1966 on the base of the "Rechitsaneft" administration for the extraction of petroleum and gas. The major industrial centres are the Retchitsa and Svetlogorsk cities. There belong to the structure of the "Belorusneft" 19 enterprises, including the administration for the extraction of petroleum and gas (1981); the productive consortium develops 24 petroleum fields within the Pripyat downfold, at the south-east of the Belarus SSR (9 of them with the industrial operation, and 15 of them with the experimental-industrial operation). The collectors are the dolomites and limestones (less often the sandstones and siltstones) of the Upper Devonian depositions. The reservoirs are tabular, tectonically screened, less often vaulted; the depth of the embedment is 1650-4560 metres; the regime is elastic-water-pressurized, with the weak activity of the external zone.

The petroleum under the reservoir conditions contains the associated gas (from several tens to 268 cubic metres of gas within 1 tonne of petroleum). The major method for the extraction of the petroleum is pumping (60%), the system for the collection and transport of the petroleum (gas) is closed. The petroleum is of the high-quality, low-sulfur; the gas is of the methane type, contains nitrogen. The annual volume of the operative drilling is 90 thousand metres, of the explorative drilling is 65 thousand metres (besides this, the "Belorusneft" performs the drilling of the wells within the Western Siberia). The level of automation within the major production is more than 90%.
