BELEVTSEV, Yakov Nikolaevich

BELEVTSEV, Yakov Nikolaevich (RU: Белевцев, Яков Николаевич) is the Soviet geologist, the academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1967). He is the member of the CPSU since the 1930. During the 1928-30, he was the machinist of the coal cutting machine at the "Red Star" underground mine (Donbass). After the graduation from the Dnepropetrovsk mining institute (1937), he governed the geological-explorative works at the enterprises of the ferrous metallurgy within the Krivoy Rog city. Since the 1969, he works within the Institute for the geochemistry and physics of minerals within the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. He has proposed the new interpretation for the geological structure and genesis of the iron ores within the Krivoy Rog basin. He has developed the foundations for the metamorphogenic forming of the ore deposits. He has been awarded with the State Prize of the USSR (1951, 1974). He has been awarded with the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR (1973) for the development of the theoretical foundations for the metallogeny of the pre-Cambrian within the Ukrainian shield.
