Asphaltic rocks

ASPHALTIC ROCKS (EN: asphaltic rocks, bitumens; DE: Asphaltgesteine; FR: roches asphaltiques; ES: rocas asfalticas; RU: асфальтовые породы) are the natural formations, most often sandstones, limestones, dolomites, which are containing asphalt within the pores or cavities and cracks. They are forming themselves on the account of the weathering of oil, the loss by it of the light fractions, with simultaneous saturation of the residue with resins and asphaltenes. The content of asphalt ranges from several % to 20%. Asphaltic rocks are distributed on many oil-and-gas-bearing territories of the world.
