Aliev, Musa Mirzoevich

Aliev, Musa Mirzoevich (RU: Алиев, Муса Мирзоевич) is the soviet geologisAliev, Musa Mirzoevicht, the academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR (since 1950). He is the member of the CPSU since 1941. He was the deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR in 1949-58. He has graduated in 1931 from the Azerbaijan Oil Institute (now the AzINEFTEHIM, named after M.Azizbekov), and worked there till 1941 (as the director since 1939). He worked in 1941-50 at the party and government job in the Azerbaijan SSR. He was in the 1950-58 the president of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR. He works since 1958 in the IGiRGI of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

He is one of the organizers of the extraction of the oil and gas at the offshore fields in the Azerbaijan SSR. There have been studied in detail and dissected by Aliev the Cretaceous depositions of Azerbaijan, oil and gas bearing depositions of the Late Proterozoic and Paleozoic of the eastern part of the Eastern European Platform and of the adjacent part of the Ural-Mongolian geosynclinal belt, and there have been defined and described 4 new types of the inoceramids.
