AGOSHKOV, Mikhail Ivanovich (RU: Агошков Михаил Иванович) is the SovieAGOSHKOV Mikhail Ivanovich t scientist in the field of the mining science, the academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (since 1981, corresponding member since 1953). He is the member of the CPSU since 1943. He has graduated from the Mining Department of the Far Eastern Technical University (Vladivostok) in 1931.

He is teaching in the institutions of the higher education since 1931, he is working in the institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR since 1941 (in 1952-58 he was the deputy director of the IGD (Institut Gornogo Dela in Russian, which means the Institute of the Mining trade) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, he is the manager of the department in the IPKON (Institut Problem Kompleksnogo Osvoeniya Nedr in Russian, which means the Institute of the Comprehensive Development of the Underground resources) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR) since 1977. He was the deputy of the Chief Scientific Secretary of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1958-68), he was the vice-chairman of the executive committee of the World Federation of the Scientific Workers (1959-64), he is the chairman of the Scientific Council on the KMA (Kurskaya Magnitnaya Anomaliya in Russian, which means the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly) problems at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR since 1967, he is the chairman of the "The Natural Resources of the USSR" Problem Commission of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and GKNT (Gosudarstvennyi Komitet po Nauke i Tekhnike in Russian, which means the National Committee on the Science and Technology) of the USSR since 1981. He has created the scientific school of thought in the field of the systems and the technology of the underground development of the ore deposits, has substantiated the method of the choice of the main parameters of the mines (1947), has introduced the universally accepted classification of the systems of the underground development of the ore deposits (1949), the unified methodology for the mining industry of the USSR of the technical and economic evaluation of the completeness and quality of the extraction of the reserves of the solid minerals from the underground deposits (1972), the methodology of the economic evaluation of the deposits of the minerals and of the national economic effectiveness of the geological exploration works (1978), has proposed and introduced the series of the very effective systems and technologies of the underground development of the ore deposits. He has been awarded with the State Prize of the USSR.
