ABRAMOV Fedor Alekseevich
ABRAMOV, Fedor Alekseevich, is the soviet scientist in the field of the mining science, the academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (since 1967). The member of the CPSU since 1929. He has graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute (1930), his main research activities (1930-41 and 1944-62) are associated with it. Since 1962, the chief of the department in the Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.
Has created the scientific foundations for the transient aero-gas-dynamic processes in the ventilation networks. Has developed the analytical and experimental methods for the determining and reducing of the aerodynamic (drag) resistance in the goafs, the methods and means for the control of the parameters of the mine atmosphere. Has explored the mechanism of the emissions of the coal, rock, gas, and proposed the series of the ways to prevent them.
The State Prize of the USSR (1976) has been awarded to him for the development and introduction of the way to overcome the gas barrier, which ensures the extraction of more than 1000 tonnes per day from the longwall face of the very gaseous mines.
