ABDULLAEV Habib Muhammedovich

ABDULLAEV, Habib Muhammedovich, (born August 31, 1912 in the Aravan settlement, now in the Osh reABDULLAEV Habib Muhammedovichgion of the Kyrgyz SSR, died June 20, 1962 in Tashkent), was the soviet geologist, the functionary of the government and the party, the academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR (since 1947), the corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (since 1958). The member of the CPSU since 1941. The deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1958-62, the member of the Supreme Soviet of the Uzbek SSR in 1955-62. The member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Uzbekistan in 1956-62. He has graduated from the Central Asian Industrial Institute (now the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute named after A.R.Biruni) in 1935, and taught there in 1940-58.

The chairman of the State Planning Commission and the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR (1942-47), the vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR (1947-52), the president of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR (1956-61). He has established the school of thought of the metallogeny geologists in the Central Asia. He has substantiated the mutual relationship between the multi-stage mineralization and the tectonics, magmatism, sedimentation, and the peculiarities of the geological history.

The Lenin Prize (1959) has been awarded to him for the monograph "The genetic relationship of the mineralization with the granitoid intrusions", the State Prize of the Uzbek SSR named after Biruni (1970, posthumously) has been awarded to him for the monograph "The metallogeny is the geological framework of the prospecting for the mineral deposits." The name of Abdullaev has been assigned to the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, the streets in the Tashkent, Andijan, and Osh cities, and in the Aravan (Osh region) and Ulugbek (Tashkent region) settlements.
